I trailered a Ribcraft 5.85 with 150 2st mariner and fully kitted out with an Astra SRI for years. The trailer had brakes originally but the previouis owner took them off under advice. I have taken further advice from marine engineers and although on the borderline I never had any trouible even going up to the West, only slight difficulty was in goin down step hills but you got used to it. I now tow the same gear with a Sorento 2.5 CRD, easy!!
Cheers
happy ribbing

I find not being able to get onto the plane with a 4.8 and a 60hp odd. My old 5.3m could easily get onto the plane with 4 divers and twinsets easily and still only had 60 horses.......

You should be OK, but I'd check.

I have an Avon 4M with console steering A frame etc, and this weighs inc engine (40hp 4 stroke) at just on 330Kg

Add battery (25Kg), 25L fuel tank fuel (25g), Bow ballast (30Kg) Anchor & chain (30kg)
the total weight is 440Kg for my all up weight

You should be able to calculate the weight of hull / engine & key components. if in doubt take it to the nearest public weighbridge. You will be legal if you are intending to check weigh.

If you are marginal, consider what kit you could carry inthe vehicle, not on the trailer (e.g fuel tank, anchor etc
