5.8M RIB on 5.5M trailer..

Lads, looking to get a trailer for a 5.8m project rib I picked up, seen a lad advertising a hallmark trailer which he states boat capacity is 5.5m..

Would it be OK to put a 5.8m on it?

Thanks

Depends if it's for a 5.5m hardboat. You can usually get a slightly bigger RIB on one.

If it's the 860kg MAM one in the classifieds, you'll be unlikely to get a 5.8m within the load weight that trailer will carry.

Its advertised as a 5.5 rib trailer, not sure of MAM of it.

Do you think it would be ok length wise if it came in under MAM?

Ask him to measure the distance between the roller at the winch and the rearmost roller.

Measure the distance between the bow eye and the transom on your boat.

Compare the two.

As an example my 4m Searider is only 3 m between the bow eye and the transom. My 5.4m searider was easily shorther than 5m between the bow eye and the transom.

Send a message via Skype™ to CJL
If it's that one then it will fit.

Only way you'll find out is with a tape measure, or to ask them then.
