On my fathers old Landcruiser low range locks the centre diff which is an issue on tarmac boat ramps that are steep and have a tight turn.
The solution was to snip a wire that went to the computer telling it that it as in low range. The centre diff lock also had a dash switch so it could still be activated when needed. Maybe Google might send you to a brand specific forum as it did for me.
