Broken Suzuki DF250 (parts) and all the goodies

Well,

I guess I have a 2005 Suzuki DF250 with a bad valve for sale. It had 1600 hours on it. Still runs great except for that annoying clacking valve and the loss of compression on the cylinder. Anybody interested in a project?

I also have all the goodies, main wiring harness 16', 6' main harness extension, single binnacle control, tach with engine monitor, and throttle and shift cables 19' I think.

Offers on any or all of it. Not sure if I have any odds on somebody taking the whole engine before I break it up for parts.

Pictures available, video of clacking valve available.

Thanks,
Jason

Please pardon the directness of this reply but if it was THE motor you wanted before the launch why not fix it? I think it would be more cost effective to do a repair than to change out to new motor(s). Just my two cents.

it would be cheaper to fix but would it be cost effective? I got it for a great price and I have just sold it to a mechanic for a bit so I am out money but not a ton all things considered. also I would have to spend a fair chunk of change just to figure out what the issue is. It's a few hundred bucks for a valve job to a new cylinder head to a new power head. The costs keep going up and even with a new power head I still have other parts that are 8 years old. I wouldn't know the costs until I pull the power head and cylinder head. There is an old saying about throwing good money after bad...

In the single vs twin argument I went with a single. I want that single to be in the best shape. I realize that new engines can develop faults too but a known history is comforting.

My wife also thinks I should get a new one so who am I to argue?

You can be right or you can be happy. Best to go with your wife's advice and feelings.

At the end of a huge project like this, definitely choose happy wife, happy life.

And bonus, she picked the new engine +1
