[QUOTE=Nos4r2;185863] Yes you've been speeding...
Breaking the speed limit doesn't kill. Inappropriate speed for the conditions kills-and that could be well under the posted limit.
QUOTE]

But its there for a reason and it takes a good driver to drive sensibly and within the law, any idiot can break it.

When I drive the wifes little car and obey the speed limits invariably I get some idiot right up my backside.

When I drive my 4 x 4 they don't do it as often. And if they do I am quite happy to slam the anchors on. Would be nice to see them with a towbar in their grill.

When I lived abroad you could report someone for driving too close or making rude gestures at you and you knew the Police would at least speak to them if not take matters further. In this country you might as well p--- in to the wind for all the notice the Police will take of you.

That's the whole point. Speed limits are simply there for people who can't drive sensibly. Within the law doesn't mean sensibly in the same way as above the speed limit doesn't mean unsafe. In too many places limits/restrictions are blatantly put in place with no regard to safety.A lot of places have the speed limit WAY too high for anyone with half a brain and people are brainwashed into thinking that the speed limit is a safe speed by successive government anti-speeding campaigns.

Some are obviously to trap people with newly placed speed cameras-or in the case of a long straight B-road up here because the local MP's mother (who's the only one living on it within the new limits imposed) didn't like cars going past at over 30mph even though she lived 2 miles out of town...

I'm for 20mph limits near schools too.

If we were to “try” you… you’d be found guilty of hypocrisy….

I wouldn't expect to find you tailgating me though.

.......you wouldn't........ but then, nor will you find me trying to cause accidents by deliberately slamming my brakes on if some idiot behind gets too close....and then insinuating that “I’m a good driver”..
