its worth choosing where you get your car serviced as the dealer location can have a large impact on price, ie it is much cheaper to get your car serviced in basingstoke by main agents rather than guildford by their main agent. so perhaps if you have a choice of dealers you could get quotes from each.....a bit of homework can save you

mitsubishi are typically expensive anyway in my experience

!And quality! It's amazing how much they can vary, even for the same make!

Summercourt is a crappy one-shop crossroads on the side of the A30. It's not exactly Sunningdale.
Also, I don't know of any Mitzy specialists in thia area. I also agree with DickieB re. main dealer history keeping the re-sale value up.

Totally off the point as it's Land Rover but there is an independant specialist in Neath called Lewis LandRovers. They charge back street prices but they are in nice modern premises and really seem to care about their customers.

I had the timing belt done and the tappets adjusted along with an oil and filter changed for 150 - and they are authorised to work on all Land Rovers - brilliant!!!

The latest, 3 days after mailing the Dealership I had a call from the Aftersales Director Guy Mercer, who said he'd be away for 3 days, but would look into it on his return. Nothing for almost 2 weeks. Then a call from Mr. Mercer asking whether I'd received his email. I'd not. He'd offered apparently, to collect the car, give it a full valet, return it with the used fuel replaced and give me some discount on the next service. I asked him whether he'd looked at the last 650 service bill, he hadn't. I wanted to know whether I could expect a similar charge for the next service. Discount on extortion is still expensive. He said he'd take a look at it and get back to me. That was 3 days ago,so far I've heard nothing. More Dales Mitsubishi customer 'lack of' service.

Hi, sorry to hear about your problems.

I also run a LWB 3.2TD Shogun (52 plate that I've had since it was 6 months old) and have had varying service from Dealers.

The one in Portsmouth was a nightmare, but the only one close to me.
They share a drive with a BMW dealers owned by the same franchise, once I ended up parking the Shogun diagonally across the shared driveway, went inside and gave the service staff the choice of disturbing the manger, who was always in meetings, or calling the police. This dealer has since changed to Seat, and other local dealers have closed.

Whilst I worked in Weybridge I used the dealers just north of Guildford who couldn't have been more helpful.
When I dropped the car off for a service I made it clear I didn't want 10 worth of screen wash etc etc and the service charge was reasonable.

However as soon as the car was 3 years old I started servicing it myself with a quick plug into a local diesel specialists diagnostics once a year for 50.

I'd like to replace it now at 120K miles, and although the car has been the best I've ever owned I'll not be going back to another Shogun. Partly because parts are unavailable except through the dealers, and partly because my nearest dealer is now the one North of Guildford 3/4hr away.
I have ended up patching/welding the exhaust several times now as for this 52 plate car exhaust sections are still only available from Mitsubishi.

I'll be going for a 4.2TD Amazon when I can afford it.

I'm tempted to bail out of the Shogun and get a Disco3. I now do work for our local LR/Saab/Volvo/Jag Franchise and the owner is an aquaintance. At least I could bend his ear if I received poor service.

We were at a do in a marquee a couple of years ago. A couple that were there had bought an 80k Range Rover Anniversary Model from the guy's dealership. They'd had shed loads of problems with it. The Missus chose to rip into Mr. LR Cornwall at the posh do. She was a bit 'new money' and it all got shitty. Very embarrassing. He's a 'proper chap' and didn't deserve it.

Then again, I won't buy an LR as I might bump into Kernow at the garage!

I've just had great service from Riders Mollers, a reversing sensor went wrong, they gave me a new FL2 as a loaner (no charge) and replaced the sensor under warranty, so they should your probably thinking but my warranty expired last November!

Thinking about it though don't get a Disco 3, you'll wipe loads of the value of mine if your seen in one!

You've already ruined the marque.

Yeah, Riders aftersales is very good.
