Finaly got the Pug back Friday afternoon, the injector they had turned out to be the wrong one, so they sourced another used one for me, which at 20 I wasn't going to complain about. They charged me 2 hours labour in the end for all the work they did, inc fault finding swapping out the injector etc so the final bill was 116 which wasn't too bad.

It now runs and ticks over really well. They fitted the injector, cleared the fault codes, ran it around the block, connected it up again and no more fault codes had been logged. My initial mucking about caused the initial codes, but they were cleared before the old injector caused a load more, I/they can't explain this apart from the rough running causing other problems.

Update

Well the poor little 206 never really recovered from all this.

Sometimes it was fine, sometimes it ran rough. It went back to the garage twice more, and each time they couldn't find anything wrong with it.

Mrs Nasher has had it 7 years but needs a reliable car, and something a little bigger was needed as the boys have grown, so we swapped it in for a new(to her) car in the end.

We've brought a 54 plate 5 door Astra with 30K on the clock. Its the latest shape one, and despite being the SRi with the decent suspension, wheels, interior etc etc, its a 1.7 CDTi (Diesel).

I have to say its a great car which we'll fight over at times, it looks good, handles well, its comfortable, the TD engine gets it going really well, and it should return @55mpg. It wasn't even a lot of money in real terms, such a good time to buy a car if you can raise the cash.
