Am thinking of buying the above. Would like to know about the 4 wheel drive. Most second hand come with permanent 4 wheel drive. Are there any problems with this like there is with the old freelander. Or should I wait for the rarer switchable model. Any views or info would be helpfull. Also feel free to comment on the vehicle overall if you have experience of them. Thanks

Looked at one before we got the missus' Rav4, the only available in Petrol put us off.

The other thing was that I didn't like the feeling of sitting on the floor and the lack of somewhere to put your left foot when it wasn't on the clutch.

Trivial points but it was for the wife you understand!

I considered getting one, but couldn't find anyone with a good word to say about them. Nothing horrific, but nothing good either.

Suzuki grand vitara

Thanks john. I think you may be right by the shortage of responses. So I'm also now considering the suzuki grand vitara. Anyone have any comments on these. Thanks to the few who have responded though.

Apparently the Suzuki's are very underrated ,the off road nuts I know, build them up with bigger axles and wheels and they swear by em...

The Grand Vitara is what I went for in the end and it has been fine. I wouldn't want to do a lot of motorway miles on it, but the cheap all terrain tyres I put on it probably aren't helping!

Suzuki

Thanks again john. I won't be doing motorway miles any way but it needs to be able to do beach launching and retrieving of sib on trailer. I take it your happy with its 4x4 capabilities?
