Land Rovers are pretty tough

Found this mad video on youtube. Some may have seen it on TV before but it's the 1st time I have spotted it.

Just watch the damage to the Sierra when it's reversed into!!!

Maybe you should invest in some more training - apparently it helps a lot............

WTF have you done to them? i still use my '53 series one every day.
ive done hundereds of thousands of miles in the last 20 years including up and down the M5 from South Molton to Abergavenny once a week for several years, you must be awfully hard on them or either unlucky or a really bad driver

I wouldnt like to turn one over, modern cars are quite robust in this respect Landies aren't unless fitted with an after market roll over bar.

So in this respect Land Rovers are NOT pretty tough.

True but newer ones are a lot better. Then again how often do you turn a car over? The same could be said of things like an Audi A4 convertible!!!

That would be all three then. I keep meaning to buy a good one to keep for a while. Never have them long enough though!

Wouldn't say I was a too bad a driver just maybe expect a 24 year old car to do more than it can.

The 90 was excellent offroad still can't believe what I out it though.

Here, probably 75% of accidents outside town are single vehicle rollovers caused by loss of control at speed and usually on loose gravel - in all sorts of 4x4s not just Land Rovers.

If you have ever seen a flat-packed Defender you won't want to be in one when it happens. They are great vehicles (I have a 110 at the moment and have had several before that) but not when sitting on top of you.

Here's what I mean by flat packed:-

I dont think the roof has been cut off, looking at the way the b pillar is bent, but i think its safe to say thats gone over a few times, theres too much damage for a single roll.
My mate rolled a 110 on a roundabout and it went over hard twice and didnt look that bad.

I think it was very badly damaged anyway but cutting the roof off didn't make it look any better!!!

I am a firm believer in roll cages but there was an accident the other day where a LR owner was criticised for making "illegal modifications" to his vehicle. They said the roll cage made it top heavy and unsafe - despite the fact many police LRs are fitted with cages as are riot vans etc!!!

I am not 100% sure whether the roof was cut off or not but I don't think so - the doors are bent right over on the passenger side and they aren't cut off.

Here is another photo and another example. Nobody was seriously hurt in any of them by the way, but more by luck than anything else I think!

Are there any drink driving laws on the Falklands???

I like this one. It's quite famous in LR circles.

Maybe the roof isn't so weak after all - it fell over an 80' cliff and landed on it's roof - the coastguards weren't hurt. Even better tha LR is back on the road!!!

Yes but like in the UK that is different from whether everybody abides by them...

There may have been more to that case than just the roll cage.

RIBase
In the '90s some lads I worked with were in a Defender County when it rolled at speed on the M3 near Winchester. It looked like the one that went over the cliff afterwards. They were very lucky to get out.
