Anyhow, price is good, toys all present & correct, and the paperwork implies the same torque and a mere 10 less HP than my current lump. (i think I detect an electronic "gearbox protecting" power cap) - and it weighs as good as the same as my current.

Allegedly runs on air according to the official figures. (if true I can put up with loosing a few gee gees)

Anyone had a hire car or own one and got some real world data?
I have this model, on a run, with cruise control on at sensible speeds, you can achieve 45 - 48 mpg, round town about 25 mpg, combination is about 30 - 35 mpg.

I had a vectra 2001 model which I bought in 03 with 15k miles on it. Just sold it last November with 234k miles on it. Best car I've ever owned. Was a 2.0dti and regardless of how you drove it it got 48mpg. Local guy who bought it is still driving it. Never once let me down and other than brakes tyres and general servicing not done anything to it. Did loads of towing with it and was brilliant longest run was 1300 miles at 39 mpg average with a 17ft bayliner. Got an astra estate now 2010 with the 150hp 1.9cdti. Had one egr valve at 50k and now got 128k on it no other probs either.
