Well my uptake is that I need something that will tow my rig, is cheap to buy, reliable and cheap to run. I have niether experience of BMW's or Landrovers but am sure that many different cars will tow my outfit on a normal road and if that was all I was doing I would buy a cheap Merc 2.8 Estate.

However the requirement is not just to drive on normal roads but also to recover on a steep slip made of gravel, concrete and mud. IMO I think a 4x4 is pretty much essential equipment and as such the Landrover seems to be the best option for the money. I still like the Idea of a Kia sized car but am limited in what's available in terms of practical everyday use and cost.

In the short term my only concern is getting Blue Venom back home from the Agents, but I do have access to a Merc 280 E for that task.

sounds a bit like owners of old british bikes , the quirky problems and constant need for repairs are part of the facination .

Difference it seems is that the bike owners laugh at their antics and are never offended by the truth
