As to badge snobbery well we have plenty of that on here with ribs too!
Points taken Nick. I don't really knock them I am probably to sensitive a Kia owner who is sick to death of the same old stories. I can honestly say it has been good to me and does all its asked as far as the rib is concrned, I also like driving it.

Good Grief!

I turn my back for a evening and here you lot are, squabbling over Land Rovers. It's more predictable than the days of the week, let's see, what have we got:

The usual suspect planning to do something and changing his mind.

Someone being dissed about being Proud to be British because he doesn't endorse an Indian 4x4 company

Someone else teasing someone about what engine is on his transom (when at least that bloke's engine IS ON his transom).

Well, here's news for yiz. I bought my 110 300TDi in 1998, when Land Rover WAS a British company, just before Fritz's Kerny's lot bought them. They then became American for a while and finally (with their Transit engines in place) got sold off to the Indians.

So there it is, I bought the Last Great British 4x4. As I drove out of the forecourt, the British Legion band was playing on the Pavilion and the sun set gently on Merrie Englande.

The rest of yiz got the misbegotten spawn of the greatest automotive whore the Northern Hemisphere has ever seen.

Nite

Yes we know Land Rover are to owned by us & have not been for some time, but as yet they are very much a British manufactured car & long may it continyou just a shame they could not find a byer in the UK but then we do have a habit of selling anything half descent to out side investors. But for now it is good to see a company doing so well imploding so many Brits!

Just wish we could all take a bit more pride in what this country still makes

Peace & love to you all man

Blimey..never have I thought a +1 would be so risky...

LR are great for a purpose and I grew up in them a the old man was a huge fan and had several. However I was agreeing the Kia is to be taken seriously for a purpose.I don't own either LR or kia , but the kia relative Hyundai...

Horses for courses..let's not get all worked up.
