Disco 2 help required

Hi I'm stuck near Hythe and the D2 has broken down, well it's all working ok but the key fob won't open the car or switch off the immobiliser/alarm etc.

The RAC have been out and we have now opened the car but we cannot start it, they are going to tow the disco back home or to a dealer on Sunday at my request.

It sounds like I need the key fob needs recoding or something. I am a member of a disco forum but I can't seem to access it via my phone.

Can anyone advise on this as I am enjoying the sun but need to go home some day....

I had a situation similar to this a few years ago on a 99 disco 2.

get it open, and physically move it about 10 meters, I was told that sometimes WiFi connections interupt the key fob signals.

Thanks for all your help with this, the disco has now fixed it's self ???

This was after 2 days and a long drive home and then to the dealer to order a new door key and get the access codes.

These sort of faults don't fix themselves for long. I suggest you get it checked properly as it will let you down when you least need it. (Especially as it is a Land Rover). If it is a dry joint, it can make and break contact as it sees fit.

I have had the same issue at the local show with Wifi ect \As soon as you get away from it .it works!!!

The Queen visited the island at the weekend when it went wrong, there were several rather large back ribs about too. We were not far from the radar tower when it wouldn't respond.

Still working fine now though.
