Right I know its for RIBs this app but Ive exhausted the internet and want to hear some opinions. Its a 2003 vauxhall corsa 1.0 which I bought 4 weeks ago, when starting and for first 10 mins it is very hard to get into first gear. After that its fine and slots in. I still wouldnt say all the gears slot in nicely but they are fine after first. So any ideas whats wrong? I reckon gear linkage, or maybe just lubricating??
As far as I can determine if you lift the gaiter on the gearshift and there will be a hole that aligns that you can lock. Then you can adjust any slack at transmission end. Look at post mid way down on this form chat: gear linkage setup
In response, clutch is fine and has loads of wear left. Simply it feels like when you try to engage 1st something is blocking it, but then if you slam it to left and forward it usually goes in......

It's the clutch binding. It's nothing to do with wear. It's a common problem. Changing the oil with a blended type will look like the problem is fixed but the problem will come back. Alan P
