Didn't JE Engineering do a Range Rover V8 that did 0-60 in less than 6 secs?

i do like the old rover v8, nice and light for the capacity. but they are asmatic pathetic lumps in standard trim, and the 3.5 is the only one without the habit of leaking liners. and in a series 3 V8 they were 95hp
i am currently thinking of a ford small block for my landrover V8 physically smaller than a rover, 5.8 liters (351cuin) and cheap to tweak unlike the bigger rovers!
hopefully it will go a bit better than my current 3.9efi running on twin SU carbs

I bet it was - I think it used a 3 speed auto in which case they could handle 800hp.

I have mentioned them before but they deserve far more publicity. Team saluki. A bunch of ex pats running a 110 in desert racing. They have a JE motors 4.6 with quaife diffs - the LR is suprisingly standard apart from that with an LT85 box. they have often beaten the works toyota and subaru teams who have massive budgets!!!

Sadly now they have moved away from LR but they did very well for such a small team over the years!!!

I'm referring to the cheap ones on ebay for an Audi A6 TDI. Just bought one, and a bit worried about towing with it and never getting anywhere in good time. Driving up a hill in Devon with a RIB on the back at 15mpg comes to mind!

Come on codders, it may have a yank slushbox and the bombproof LT230R
(at least i think it was the R not the T with the 1.003-1 ratio)
but its still a landrover, therefore it will still fall to bits.
we have both had landrovers for long enough to know that the day when there is nothing on the vehicle thats broken never comes
today it was my dipswitch and indicators that packed up. and it cost a whole tenner for a new one, Last week the battery died
its about due to screw up a propshaft again.
wouldnt be without all 3 of them though

To be honest my LRs just keep on going. I prob give them more services than most but that's it.

My old 110 is ex Police - went like stink on the standard engine as the restrictors were removed. It had prob had a very hard life - in fact the rear crossmember had bulged outwards around the tow hitch!!!

All I have had to do to it is change the propshaft UJs.

My Disco has (touch wood) only had to have normal servicing as has my old Rangie.
