Buying car tax online! at last

certainly beats finding a post office and queueing all lunchtime with all the millions of documents you have to take -

Beware! on line car tax

I applied for my care tax on the 25th Sept 2006 ...I'm still waiting they are sending a duplicate I'm still waiting for that too. I used this service b4 ...BUT I'll never use it again. Post office say ther has been loads of problems. So now I have to wait until Tues 10th Oct b4 I can inform them about a new one. After that I'll give up waiting and tax it at the post office. which means I'll have to apply for a refund. By then I will have lost out on ten days road tax. Police say I must not drive my car without a valid tax disc.....EVEN THOUGH I CAN PROVE I HAVE PAID!!!

I did it a while back and was prepared for pages and pages of forms to fill in…. not a bit of it. It was all over before I knew it.

Did take them 2 attempts to get it out to me but hay ho. What the hell still less stress than post office.

Why do we pay it anyway??? Just to keep 1/2 of Swansea in jobs!!! In Spain they have the tax on their petrol - and it's STILL cheaper than our fuel.....

Also I wonder why we need to display a stupid tax disk anyway - the cameras everywhere only look at your number plate.

Never mind - it all goes to make our motoring more of a pleasure......

Yup took the disc about 5 days to arrive in the post, but so much less hassle. Scary thing was enter the reg number and it checks your insurance and MOT instantly to see if they are valid just as the cops do now at the roadside. Big brother is watching and for once I am all for it if it means getting the uninsured louts of our roads.

Pete

But the unisured louts just swop their plates or know how to avoid the cameras - or just pinch someone's car!!!

What REALLY gets me is this new SORN thing - why the hell should you have to tell anyone if you choose to put your car in your own garage and leave it there??? What happens if you are away working and you find your contract is extended by say 6 months? You come back to find a hefty fine even though your car is NOT on the road!!!

Codders? Are you alive? Are you reasonably healthy? Are you reasonably well fed? If the answer is “yes” then stop feckin’ whinging on about the tax on fuel in this Country. It’s a tax..it’s gonna be paid somehow…. live with it.

Yes and purely through sheer hard bloody work!!! i understand the need for taxes but why do we have the dearest fuel in the world??? perhaps if people had a different attitude to yours we would NOT have to put up with it!!!

I pay more than enough tax as it is!!!

Over the last few days I've been, quite literally, holding the hands of a great friend as he tries to cope with the shock of his twelve-year-old daughter being in hospital having two brain tumours removed. She’s in a NHS hospital. Yes, I know they leave a lot to be desired on occasion (My Older sister is an Oncology Ward Counsellor and Nurse) but this is what your taxes are going towards, you whining little shit. Look around you at the suffering others go through and take your head from up your arse for once. Taxes are feckin’ taxes, whether you think you are paying too much is neither here nor there.. fuck off and live somewhere where you pay less than here. You have the luxury of owning expensive toys such as a Boat, a V8 LandRover and yet you moan like a squealing child at the cost of running them because “tax on fuel” is high. Well tough shit, there are a lot more important things in life.
We all know that a lot of money is squandered by whatever Government is in power, but that’s the nature of the beast. What are you doing about it, apart from sitting on your fat arse, moaning on about it? Put that into Google if you want…..
