Zodiac project boat

Anyone fancy a challenge

http://cgi.govliquidation.com/auction/view?id=793757

Wonder what price it will fetch as even the beat up ones seem to command a good price over here.
Must be a shortage!
cheers Dal

i've been dreaming about that 24 footer for about a month now.

they had an orange 21ft hurricane a couple weeks back. last bid was $15,250 with a 2001 115hp johnson i believe. kinda steep considering it didn't have a trailer and looked really beat up.

i bet that 24 footer will fetch quite a bit.

i've looked at those and dreamed myself. I cant believe that the one that went for 15k did. I call conspiracy! Its a nice rig - but sight unseen for 15 thousand dollars, and no trailer. what do you guys think happens - does someone just buy it thinking they can flip it later on for at least what they paid? Seems like an awful lot of money for something that may need new tubes and a new motor.

I actual saw the used humvee tires they sell on the same site - lots of four went for $100, selling for $450 on ebay. I suppse there is money in it.

i think you're right. i think people are cleaning them up and selling them. i've seen a few 21 hurricanes with that same A frame for sale in the 18-20k range.

keep looking, deals do come around, sometimes deals pop up with brokers, or at more obscure sites online, I bought my boat on a trailer at a very reasonable price, I just had to look. I have owned 7 ribs, all at reasonable prices, there was a 22 ft nautica on Yacht World recently, rigged with hydraulic steering for a merc outboard (no motor) on a trailer.... asking price $8500. Now that was a really fair price for a great boat. They are out there!

Dctucker, yes, the one you listed is down my way, here at Camp Pendleton just north of San Diego.
Go past there quite often so tempted to see if I could take a look.
The trailer looks a bit of a beast though! Triple axle;whats that thing weigh!!!
Cant wait to see what that fetches

I really lucked out finding my 5.4 SR with 115 mariner and trailer for $4200. Havnet had to touch the motor or tubes.

Sounds like a great deal. I got mine with a 1996 70 hp Johnson. Some tube work needed. Some good tlc put into making her ship shape too. Kinda fun doing some work to personalize the end result. I'm getting there.
With the availability of the ex-coastguard ribs in the US you kinda gotta just jump on something when it pops up. Lately quite a few have popped on the market but it seems the demand has shot up quite a bit. I remember just last year watching some Ex-mil ribs going for DIRT cheap. Too bad they were all on the Eastcoast. Now even beat up hulls are fetching what complete boats were getting a year back. I've got enough ribs for now
