Zodiac PRO 550

Hello all,

Upgraded from a mk2 futura alu to this 550. Huge difference, I can actaully cut right through the crud chop of the Cheseapeake bay now, and she is very dry too. Primary use is for diving and cruising. Im still using her, and as long as the bay doesnt ice up, Ill take her out on a decent day for cruising or maybe even a dive. The load capacity of these boats is amazing.

Cheers! CAP

I know this is an old post. But i love my Pro 550 as well! But I am selling her to get a bigger one! She is listed under the classifieds.
The Pro 550's are extremely fast, gets onto plane in seconds and is such a pleasure to operate!
Looks like you have 2 labs as co-pilots...i have 2 Great Danes and that is why I need a larger RIB!!
Have fun with the 550!!!

Yep got one too, put 600hrs on mine in the last two years simply because I can get out in all kinds of weather that would normally keep me off the water in other boats. I push mine quite hard as the ride is better in sloppy conditions seems far better at 25-27knots than at 18-20. I removed the seat leaning platform to aid in higher speeds in rough conditions without bumping into it or having it push me onto the steering.

I have caught the RIB bug!!! they are just the best, like you said Jonp, they handle the chop and you don't have to be picky on the days you take them out. They handle so much better than classic fiberglass boat of the same size. People call it a dinghy I call it the SUV of intercostal ways!!! Just can't beat them!
And I agree, higher speeds tend to handle the seas better, just need to find the right speed and trim and away you go!!!
Go ahead and wax you fiberglass boats I will take my RIB any day over those!!! GO RIBS!!

My Zodiac always makes me smile like a little kid that was just told by their parents, go ahead and play outside until the lights come on!!!!!
