Some people would have said that you should have gotten an Etec - no break in period!!!!

(congrats - pictures to follow, I assume!)

Yeah the e-Tec's do have an advantage there. Wife doesn't like two stroke smell so she decreed I must have a four stroke.

Also not sure about two strokes in Tahoe. We only go once a year but it would be an issue.

Etec's are perfectly legal in Tahoe. The only reason I posted was because of polarized responses you usually get whenever you say "etec" (love them or hate them).

As I recall, for Tahoe, anything with a CARB 1 star rating is OK, which includes E-tecs, and most DI 2-strokes.

Well almost three weeks later and I'm hoping the new engine gets rigged this week. It's been comedy of errors. It's a new Suzuki AP engine, all electronic controls, which is new for the local yard. Their Suzuki rep has left them hanging for a week, given them the not quite correct part numbers, and the when we got the right part it was missing a component from packaging in Japan. Fortunately that component is the wiring adapter I had purchased for my old Suzuki, nice of them to be consistent, and has been sitting on my workbench. I will take it down tomorrow

AP =Advanced Placement? You're having a future college attendee hanging off your transom?

I was installing a new chartplotter/fishfinder and ran into similar problems. Unfortunately, in my case all the problems were of my doing. A two to three hour job will have stretched into 2 weeks (though to be fair, most of that is waiting for shipping to occur.)
