Last part! A utilitarian rope guide. It's maybe a few inches taller than usual. The single makes it that way and I made clearance so I can use a bridle off the two bollards on the transoms cap without rubbing on the engine.

It should be welded up tonight and to the powder coater tomorrow morning. Install Friday or Saturday

Lake trials are scheduled for Sunday. (Amazing, finally). All electronics are working well. The engine data shows up on the lowrance hds unit.

So anybody know how many hours it takes to remove and replace a powerhead and a cylinder head? Suzuki df250.

Just trying to brace myself. Of course salmon season opened this weekend , local Suzuki dealer said call later in the week.

Thanks
Jason

funny how your mind works, I've gone from depression to insanity. One engine blows up and since I have to finance them any way I'm thinking twins might be nice....

I'd need a second start battery, a new binnacle control (not sure if I have room), and another hole in the transom. I'll need more fuel but I have determined that I really should have used the 85 gallon tank I have. the storage space below the console is too big!!

I'll pay my dealer a visit Wednesday and see what happens.

Uh oh.

Try to resist....Two engines mean twice as probable you will need to use a wrench at any moment in time.

my wife thinks we'll be OK if I just buy one new engine. She pointed out that the last engine we had, a new Honda, ran for 10 years without a hitch.

Tell her that Honda isn't going to work since they only go to 250 hp.

7 Marine 557?
Yamaha F350?
Mercury Verado 350?
Etec or Suzuki 300???

A new suzuki would be easiest, 4 bolts. I'll probably stick with a 250 although I guess I could look at the 300.

Maybe you can still find one of the old DF250's for cheap(er). If you have to get the new(er) DF250AP that's that same weight as the 300. Go 300!

thanks one used engine was enough. It lasted 7.5 minutes. The next one is new, it hurts but what can you do? I'm not too concerned about weight. It's designed for 800lbs of twins and it sits really high out of the water. I weigh 100lbs more than the next guy and I don't see that ever talked about.

I meant "old dealer stock" or whatever they call it. Suzuki still show the old DF250 up their website. It doesn't have the new gears or "lean burn" but still would work for you - and there are rebates (I think).

Nope, no one ever discusses that here. Though, I have friends that ride bikes and they make fun of the guy who buys every titanium accessory to make their bike lighter when the simplest thing to do would be to lose 40 lbs!

Sorry, I misunderstood. I see the difference in the new engines, nothing that I really need, true.

I am a cyclist myself and my biggest issue is that parts only last about 6 months for me. I've snapped off two pedals, taco'd 1 frame, just broke the rear triangle on my new carbon MTB frame, a spoke a month, brake pads last 3 months, the list goes on and that's only the last year I can remember.
