AV, I know that you were interested in the progress...

So far, so good. The "dolphin Grey " diamond non-skid Starboard deck isn't as dark as I'd like, but it's the only grey they make. They used the existing bolts in the transom for the top supports for a pretty clean look. The only issue: I'm going to have them move the ladder bracket so that it's flush and below the deck level so you can't stub a toe on it.

Spotted this on flea bay, but a good example of what could be done (maybe not what should be done). Yours seems a better and cleaner design. Was it expensive?

Slow Progress

My Yanmar guy finally figured out that the green junction box is actually a glow plug timer controller, so I am assuming it doesn't have anything to do with my overheating issue.
I also tightened the belts leading to the water pump as they had significant play in them.
This did not stop the c.water temp light from coming on after 10 minutes of idle... so I tested the resistance on the temp sender switch, it was all over the place, its getting replaced. Even if the temp sender switch was faulty, I am still concerned. I had read that I should be able to see the coolant water (antifreeze) flowing when I open the cap. All I see is my antifreeze vibrating and an occasional bubble. Which leads me to believe, blockage or freshwater pump like captnjack suggested... any ideas fellas?

ncp-
That swim platform (and RIB in general) is f*ing fantastic, looks like an OEM option! Did it come out to the estimate price? if so thats great, I am pricing wood for my form, and fiberglassing... its not going to be cheap. Its too bad fab shops here are insane and unreasonable when it comes to prices. BTW hows the escort boat looking?

johndoe007-
Thats mega yacht/island tender is a thing of beauty, if only we all had a 100k to throw at a boat... wouldn't be as fun though!
I just looked at your "final touches" album, you really did a lot of work on that rib- from trash to bad ass! good work!

Keep it up fellas, seeing your RIBS come together keeps me inspired, especially after chasing dead ends in the blazing hot Hawaiian sun.
LOOKING FORWARD TO WHAT COMES NEXT
GOODTIMES

AV- Thanks, It can't speak more highly of the guy who did all the work. I was just the architect.

NCP- Do you have a drawing or a cocktail napkin you could forward of what you had built?

It wasn't too bad. I don't have a final price yet because I haven't paid yet!

That think is gorgeous!

But, $$$-wise, it's rather expensive as we all know. With a little elbow grease, we've figured out you can do it for a bit cheaper.

Don't know the final price; We'll see if he wants more than what he quoted for it. There are a couple of small bits he's doing for my so hopefully I don't get jacked around from him. I'll let you guys know!

In the case that I hadn't found the grey Starboard, I was going to wrap some marine ply in glass, gel it and add some non- skid powder to the top layer. I think that would have come out well too. And you'll be able to do whatever color you want!!! (grey of orange???)

Yes, thanks, confirmed a buddy and his 18ft. Whaler for the race. He's escorted a million times and done it in a canoe about the same.
