What to buy, need advice

Hello,

I am looking for a boat to cruise around the lake in, preferably something semi-fast. I am on a budget of 2K - 4K and am considering used, but I don't really know what to get. As long as it holds at least 2 people, it's fine, preferably 4. Would like it to go 25mph at least and possibly as fast as 40mph. I would also prefer a steering wheel on the boat rather than using a motor handle.

Would you go for a more of a regular inflatable or dinghy type boat?

Do you think I can find a decent RIB boat around this range just for cruising the lake with my above requirements. I am also considering a Jet Ski, but I think the small boat would suit me better.

Any ideas or suggestions of where I can look and what brands/models I might look into?
