Viva mexico

Got hit bad by Hurricane Jemena. When the $hit hits the fan these Mexican folks can work like nothing I have ever seen. Will post more details and pic later. Just got power back up but no water and house was flooded to 2 ft. and lots of mud and backed up sewage.

Hope everything cleans up okay. Up in Nor Cal, we heard about the storm hitting Cabo, but not much after that.

Glad you made it through safely. Did you evacuate, or weather in place?

We weathered in place as we had no choice. At the worst I tried to walk to higher ground but when the water came up to my chest I gave up. It will take months to clean up after we get water back. Insurance guy has been round already and is going to take care of us I am sure. Only four houses , in town collapsed, all on the beach. But, there are hundreds with serious damage.
I cannot say enough about the help, spirit and hard work from the Mexican people. Yes, they have a reputation of being slow and lazy. However when there is a big problem they work like hell. Power guys shinning up poles with no safety gear, front loaders and graders running at 20mph, foremen shouting out instructions, etc, etc, We are most impressed.
Only 20 boats sunk or turned over in the marina. The dry storage area is another problem; 600 boats tried to float away on their trailers, but where caught by the chainlink fence. They are now one jumbled heap.

A few pics.
Guess they did not come thru. Probably a bandwidth problem at this time.
