Count me in! I picked up a new to me Ribcraft 5.85 a few weeks ago. I'm on the south shore (MA) and will certainly take a trip.

Damn SoCal guys... We only hit 102 here.

Heard the tall ships were back in San Diego a couple of weeks ago. Any new shots?

It took a bit of searching, but I found it. I thought mine ended up sold to a guy from the Springfield MA area, but it could have been moved or resold. It looks similar except the upholstery is a different color. His description is a bit over the top, but the boat served me well and was built like mack truck.

But particularly fond of "Amazing Grace" who are always very welcoming to see me and don't mind me getting close in.
Also Pilgrim from just up the road at Dana Point is a class act

Bill,
think you need to be kind to your Ribcraft and send it to "winter" down here in San Diego
Just hope it has pressure relief valves as we dont want it exploding when the temps soar
Only 85' today so was thinking of going out ,but there are clouds out there
cheers Dal

Nice try Dal, though it's a good thing that all USA Ribcraft boats have pressure relief valves. I was planning on going out today, temps in the low 70's, but we got hit by heavy rains the last couple of days so the rivers were quite high and full of junk. Soon Blue Moon will go into hibernation only to be up and ready for the challenge next spring.
I do envy you guys with a year round boating season.

ribfan – hibernation already?....that's just silly. The forecast next weekend for Boston may be around 71-ish.

Only kidding, I too would normally start the sad process of "winterizing" but I stumbled into a Ribcraft a few weeks ago and I'm just not ready to give in. I always knew Rib's were cool but didn't realize that after one ride the entire family would land at the dock with perma-grin's extending from ear to ear.

After a bunch of small outings in familiar areas, I'm thinking about extending my range and going into Boston or Georges Island tomorrow. Any recommended trips in New England?

Ugh. It's 39 here today, dropping to 34 with a frost warning tonight. On the upside, it's sunny!

Hi Control lissues,

Welcome aboard, fellow Ribcraft owner. They're great boats, I'm guessing you picked up one of the Ribcraft 585, it's a real nice boat. You will enjoy it for a long time. We've had ours since 2006, and I still get a thrill out of it.
I'd love to use the boat later into the fall, but as things begin to cool it gets tougher and tougher to get my first mate to agree, so there you have it. Also, if you wait too long to winterize, you find yourself doing it in the freezing cold, wishing you a done it a couple of weeks earlier.
As far as destinations to go to, depending on where you live, here are a few we've done, Block Island, Newport RI, Plum Gut, Greenport NY area to name a few.
We'll connect next year with LTF and have an outing.

Bill

Welcome Control Lissues. I've got a 5.85 that has been awesome. Just pulled her out this past weekend, but still have the Protector in the water. May try to do some whale watching off Stellwagen on Sunday with the kids.

We've done Georges Island and had a good time there. Up my way, you could do Salem. This time of year it's crowded but fun. Coming by boat you avoid the traffic. P-town isn't that far, but you might want some company in the off-season.
