artificial teak decking works well if a leisure rib, if commercial there is some paint on stuff you can get but i dont know its name, have seen it on another rib and works well.

You won't beat the Flow Coat/Sand combo...already mentioned,but Interdeck do a nonslip paint actually designed for the job..in various colours (which does contain an abrasive) and is OK....and easy to apply.
Just mask out the area you want (for a neat job) and apply with a Brush or roller,once you've got a Pattern on the deck it's easy to go over it every couple of seasons or so,depending on useage.

Non-slip does what it says on the tin, but it wears hell out of anything placed upon it; bags, diving kit, cool boxes, dogs etc. I keep looking at the black/dark grey "teak" style decking but just can't decide.

Love it, I flick the standard boating footwear (flip flops) off and go to town on the hard skin. Brings the plates of meat up a treat. 
The beautician can then concentrate on the more delicate bits.

Not too bad when you're stuff is strapped down properly...
it's the Friction/abrasion that does the damage to stuff..
Fake Teak ...expensive..not as grippy as what you have already....really needs to be put down /applied by pro's (seen plenty that came adrift even so) added weight..(yours is pretty loaded already
Something else to give you problems medium/long term...& more liesure/pleasure than ruffy tuffy Yorkie

Fair point, I might get a small rubber mat for the area behind the seats just for the dog to stand on.

I had same probs with the flowcoat with grit hard on the dog so bought the temporary camping floor tiles from go out doors stuck down with sikaflex cost less than £20 very light weight and last well

A friend of mine just showed me a really cool alternative to sand... it is ground up rubber from old tennis balls. So it is grippy and non-slip, but non-abrasive. Not sure what it is called or where to get it... but I saw it on his deck and it is super lux. I am gonna re-sand the decks on my trawler and put that on... PITA since I just finished, but it will be worth it.
