Don't forget to consider towing... A "commercial" boat like a Hurricane or Avon and I presume Ribcraft, will need a significant tow vehicle if you are dragging your boat any distance. Our UK brethren get by with some ridiculously small tow vehicles I thought, until one of them pointed out that the shore is never more than about 200 yards from anywhere in the UK.

When I moved up to a 20' Hurricane from a 16' Zodiac Rib, I blew three sets of rings in my V6 Isuzu truck in two months. I ended up having to buy a gently used Tahoe to pull my new boat. (I drag my boat all over the Great Lakes Basin and down the St. Lawrence... Hundreds of miles on major highways.) The truck proved to be an expensive accessory!
