Man that is one Huge lobster.Can't imagine how you could keep him under control long enough to get him in the boat. You must have a big net.

Probably 30 years old, they grow faster than a Maine lobster...

I thought the same tbh, but then after researching I found there's clawed and clawless lobster, looks tasty either way.

True, the Maine lobster has a couple of nice claws, but if a spiny lobster, especially one this size, ever closes his tail on your hand and sinks a couple of spikes in you, you'll be heading to the ER for some stitches...

Here's another big'un from this season;

While we're talking about lobsta's, here's my favorite recipe;

Shell the meat and coat it in olive oil, coat all over with this stuff;

Then sear it on a black iron skillet for 8 minutes or so, preferably on an outdoor flame or you'll smoke your house up.

It should come out looking like this;

Good eatin'...!

Damn, Troy; Why don't you get the big ones?

Nice bugs. I haven't made it out lobster diving for something like 3 years. Not that I was any good at it anyways.

Oh, and for those wondering, the American Lobster (aka Maine Lobster, Homarus americanus) and it's relatives (European Lobster, Homarus gammarus; and the shrimp-like Norway Lobster, which may not be all that closely related I think) are the only ones with claws.

Pretty much every lobster found elsewhere is some sort of clawless Spiny Lobster (Southern California/Mexico, Hawaii, Caribbean/Florida, Australia, etc.)

jky
