I am finally a rib owner!

After lurking on this site for the last year, and looking at way too many ads, I finally purchased a boat.

I bought a 2004 Novurania 4.3 meter w/a Yamaha 50HP 4 stroke.

I took it out for the inaugural run yesterday. It was kind of rough, but i still got it up to 24 knots. I thought the boat should be able to go faster, but it felt like i was going pretty fast.

I really appreciate all the information that i have received over the last year from all of the members of this site.

I am sure that i will have lots more questions to follow in the future.

Thanks again.

Congratulations Zip! I'm a new RIB owner as well. Picked up an Apex a couple weeks ago.

The stupid grin on my face is only now becoming somewhat manageable. LoL!

lugnut,

yeah, it is quite a ride. yesterday was my first day on one, and it was pretty doggone rough.

I don't know how fast people normally operate these things, but 24 knots was a little spooky.

This is my first RIB but second inflatable. I lived on a boat with my mom for 11 years before joining the Navy. When I was a kid my friends had go-carts and mini bikes and I had a Zodiac MkII with a 25HP mercury.

Coincidence! I finally clocked mine today at 38MPH with a 70HP outboard and an unknown prop

LG,

38 MPH?

I felt like i was going to fall out at 24kph!

I guess that it will take a little time to get used to it.

Yeah, it moves right along LoL! We zipped past a couple larger center console fishing boats and my youngest daughter is now hooked. All she wants to do now is go fast. No fishing, no tubing, no looking at anything, just "Go faster daddy!"
