Ran across your thread looking for info. I’ve got a 1990 Hurricane H640 or ZH640. ID plate is a little hard to tell. Original outboard boat. Was in service in Florida, then a rescue dice boat in NC and finally a FD bought from them to use as recovery with a 360 degree sonar screen. I’m trying to get info about this model but can’t find any.

Any I can find. The FD couldn’t give a lot. This unit was in coral gable Florida originally then a rescue squad bought it for a dive team then the FD bought it from them. They sent it somewhere for tube rejuvenation and paint. Supposedly was powder coated? Keel looks to fiberglass but topside maybe some type metal. Under floor fuel tank and oil bottle in standup console. Said it premixed for the Mercury 150 saltwater edition. I’d plate says rated for 2 x 90hp but I see people all over the forum powering with more hp than this on this model. H640 or ZH640. I’d plate is a little tough to read. I don’t have any info and this is my first RIB over 12’ any info would be helpful. That’s a beauty you’ve got there by the way

640 is a glass hull boat. Generally have a large aluminum deck plate that the fuel tank is welded to under the deck. 2x 90 was standard horsepower configuration. Most 640 OB hulls are foam filled which at this point is probably saturated with water. Powered mine with a Yamaha F 150 and it runs very well with motor. We also added a custom aluminum fuel tank to gain extra capacity. Factory tank was 43 gallons which is pretty small for that much horsepower.
