Thats good for that size of engine ? most peeps would have double that HP on that size of hull

Boat weight (Wet) 1350. Viper 22" Evinrude Etec 250HO, 5850 revs, two way average with me on board alone, light load with only ~60litres fuel: 52knts exactly. With both of us and a weeks worth of camping kit it struggles over 48. Heck, just having GD on board drops at least 2 knots!

I bought the boat with a 115 johnson v4 on the back which was tired and needed work doing, I already had the 75 on a stand so i put that on. i swapped from the 19"prop to the 21" meaning acceleration isnt the best but is good for covering distance and also keeps top end revs down a little.

No it didn't come with a quayside. The prop model number says LH on the end - tried to google it but no luck so far......

I once managed 312 Knts on the GPS through Largs marina!

It would appear all those masts confused the Garmin for a couple of miliseconds and it momentarily put me half a mile up the hill according to the track log. I guess in the time it got confused and corrected itself the mile round trip would have needed to be at 312 Knots!

Is your engine new or second hand? could your engine have a left hand prop fitted instead of a rigt hand, then been rigged to run the engine in reverse so as to make the boat go forward. outboards tend not to run at full speed in reverse!

I've done 42knots...that was the limit of my personal comfort...we could have done more...normally cruise around 25knots (bugs hurt at 42kn)

5.85 Ribtec with 150 Opti, light fuel load & 23" prop touched 44 kts BUT chine walked at anything over 32 ish knots, so much so I'd resigned myself to never exploring the engines potential
However now on a 21" prop and with a full fuel load and extra anchor & chain in bow locker she's now much more stable, able to cruise at 30 kts and no chine walking up to about 40 kts, briefly saw 46 kts at 5200 rpm

Ribcraft 4.8m, Tohatsu 2-stroke 60hp, tweaked to 70hp, standard 15" aluminium propeller, 50 litres of fuel, two people on board, 36mph at 5,800 revs. A larger pitch stainless-steel propeller would make a difference.
