There's a guy called Tony, who's over here from Chicago installing some equipement at work. My company was real upset he wasn't working yesterday (spoilsports), it must be akin to working Christmas day or something I guess.

Yup. just like Xmas day without the presents. Brined our turkey for the first time; it came out great, plus seven vegies, cranberry sauce and bread sauce. Bubble and squeak today.

Was in the States for Labour day, got invited to someones Farm party where horse shoe throwing and rifle shooting was the order of the day. Was a truely pleasant affair.

Just google "brined turkey" there are lot's of recipes. Basically it makes the turkey more juicy and tastier. Bit of a pain in the arse and has to be started previous day. Do not over do it. I find about 7 hours right for a 14 pounder. I have always brined shot wild fowl, mainly pheasant, with great results. If you like bread sauce then you should try cranberry sauce with a little orange zest mixed in and allowed to stand for a few hours.

we threw horse shoes yesterday and ate ham and turkey. the latest craze is to deep fry the whole turkey. many homes have been burnt since that whole thing started.

today we recover, then fire off some rounds out of the AK-47. (in the spirit of the season

Great way to celebrate thanks giving. Those turkey deep fryers are bloody dangerous and by the time you have purchased the kit and at least 2 gals of oil it costs 10 times as much as the turkey. it also make a huge mess and has to be done outdoors. Also, what do you do with the oil afterwards.
Better idea is to buy an AK 47 with a 70 round drum mag. and have some fun. Much, much safer. I bet I am going to get some flack from UK folks on this one.

I'm kinda partial to those Dillon miniguns, but I'd have to sell my boat just to cover the cost of firing one of them for a minute.

Actually the cost is not that bad. Sorry to name drop but Mike and Carol Dillon live down the street. His factory is about 4 miles away. If you shoot 6:1 tracer then 1 minute, say 1500 rounds would be about $800 bucks. Now if you want to really spend money you can shoot one, door mounted from his Huey Helo. Have never done that but have stood under the Huey at about 100ft when he let go 5000 rounds solid tracer. Targets were about 30 bundles of dynamite staked out in the desert. Quite impresive. However my favorite is shooting an MG42 on antiaircraft mount at RC airplanes. That is really cheap. $200 for the whole weekend + cost of ammo. I have not made ace yet as I only got 4 planes ( one with an M16) in a weekend but still hold the record. Life is just sooo tough. Will look up the site of our shoots and post.
