Blue Moon is listed

Well, Finally did it, Blue Moon is listed for sale on Ribcraft's web site. Still love the boat, but time for a change to the slow lane of a pocket trawler. Wife wants a boat with a head, galley and bed, and did I forget, heat.

They've definitely sent them "left" at the bottom of Ireland though

Actually I suppose it's turning right if they're coming from redbay

They've sent them all over the globe - but I can't think of one that went to the USA. An obvious problem (other than America's restrictive import tariffs ) would be the "ban" on Yamaha inboards over there. Most of the big Redbay boats in recent years ran Yammies. The most recent have Yanmars or Volvos.

Does the OP wanna drop $300k on a comfy wife friendly RIB?

Love to, but a bit out of my range. Over here there are a few companies who make 25-27 ft diesel powered trawlers that can be had used for under 100k.
That's the plan, er sort of.

They've sent quite a few to South America though, hence why I said turning right when heading south!

I'll have a look for the article, I'm sure someone reviewed an 11m destined for the fire brigade of one of the drug lord dictatorships..

Dive shop owner was poring over Craigslist about a year ago, with the dream of convincing his wife to go the liveaboard route. It was pretty amazing what kind of boat you get for stupid little money.

Hopefully (for you) the market hasn't improved much - there were some really nice rigs for sale.

Thanks Scott, jky,

It's been great fun,& I still love the boat and yes Scott I would still boat with you, but a bit slower. There are boats out there, but when you are looking for 8.5 ft width which is the max you can tow w/o special permits the list gets much smaller. There are a few out there, but unfortunately the first move is to sell what you got.
If you know anyone out there looking, it's on the ribcraftusa site, send them my way.

Bill

blue moon

Blue moon looks like she is sold. We need to get her to Marblehead for a survey. If all goes well, which I expect, the deal is done.
Really will miss the rib, it's been a great boat and great fun owning her, but as they say, it's time to move on.
