You say the Rib is going to BVI? There are an absolute ton of charter boats out of Tortola, mostly sail but increasingly more power boats as well. They have a real need for assist craft of all types as every kind of odd situation ocurrs that one could imagine.

I love Holland!

Business had me in Hilversum starting fifteen years ago and I discoverd that while there on business I could charter a canal boat cheaper than a descent hotel. I used a guy in Spakenburg (spelling) and at that time could get a really nice steel curiser ample for four persons with hot water heat for around 700 USD a week. So I'd go over, get the boat, do the business in Hilversum and cruise all over your country, from Edam to Freisland! I had never been in the polder land and we were leaving an ancient town one morning (hung over from a few too many beers) and when we entered the lock the guy was fussing about making sure our lines were right on the bollards. All the locks I had been through previously were a meter or less up or down. He pulled the plug and quicker than I could say Netherlands we were going down what seems like ten meters! Yikes!

I haven't been there for six years but I promise you I'm coming back! What wonderful people I met there.

I think it depends on whether or not you have been downwind of Cod expounding on Ribs or the most recent post regarding ribs, in that case you might find his estimate of wind speed to be quite accurate....
What do ya think, Cod? (smile)
