Anchor mount for the bow

Does anyone know where I can get one of these? The local inflatable shop has them, but they want $300.00 for the glue on from Zodiac.

Thanks,

John

PacNW;

You have a pic of the bow of your boat?

My buddies have a glass glued-on attachment that has an off-the-shelf roller bolted to it. I *think* the thing was custom, but I don't remember (it was discussed on here a year or so ago; might be able to find it doing a search. Don't remember which forum.)

Mine is attached to the anchor locker, which is part of the aluminum hull, so that probably won't help.

I have seen a guy who bolted a roller to his bow rail off the starboard bow; seems to work OK for him (though I'd be concerned about strength.)

In truth, none of these really work well as an anchor mount (for when you're travelling; actually, mine does, but I don't like using it that way), but are more to protect the tubes and give a better angle for retrieving the hook.

$300 for the Zodiac one? Wow.

Let me know if you find a solution, I'd like one for the bow of my Avon.

Don't have pricing, but have a look at this thread:

FYI, ccohn2000 is one of my dive buddies. She's the one with the glue-on roller.

FWIW, I think it may be easiest to simply make one, especially if you have a friend who does sheet metal (or are handy with fiberglass). Basically, Carol's is a low profile box, contoured on the bottom to match the tube curvature, base flared outwards, and is glued on with multiple layers of hypalon (I think there's a layer to fit around the box edge, then a layer that isolates the box from the tubes. End result is that the edge of the box is sandwiched between the hypalon layers. I think.) The roller itself bolts to the box part.
