I might just fill out the form and fax it in. I wonder if it's tax deductible like the portion of DMV fees are?

(Since I'm pulling with a Grand Cherokee, the boat is going to look WAY wider than my car whether it's 8'6 or 9'0!!!!)

I finally got around to filling out the California TR-0031 form (http://www.dot.ca.gov/hq/traffops/pe...rms/TR0031.pdf). Though, I can't complete it until I get the tape measure out. I will need: trailer length, hitch to last axle length, and front bumper of tow car to back of trailer excluding outdrive.

Not that they are going to turn me down and not take my $90, I noticed this caveat on the website:

"Eligibility for an oversize or overweight permit: To be eligible for an oversize or overweight (or "extralegal") permit, the main criterion is that the load be non-reducible, that is, that it cannot be reduced down and transported in a legal vehicle." (Caltrans Transportation Permits Homepage)

Most of us are legal upon deflating our tubes!

A big one? Like in the movies? For boats or cars?

I'll keep that in mind in case I need to dispose of any bodies/cars.
