VHF and warranty periods

I am thinking of getting some new Waterproof VHF's and was wondering if any makers did more than a standard 1 year warranty, or an option for an extended warranty?

This suggests the ICOM 601 warranty can be extended to 3 years. Where's Jon Brooks when you need him?

BTW, try not to give your name anywhere when ordering - I'm sure everyone's heard of your reputation for breaking things!

Rouge, I'd recommend ICOM. One of our handhelds flooded and was replaced under the 3 year warranty. Top service.

It is true we offer 3 years FOC as standard on all our marine kit.
The radio's come with 12 months as standard.
Fill in the card and send it back here we will then give you 3 years.
This does not cover batteries on hand helds (they only get 12 months)
This does not cover bad installs or abused sets!!

Stuart, highly recommend Icom's M1 EuroV with w/proof mike. Brilliant bit of kit. Would be even better with a nice yellow belt holster though.

What is the problem with the mic?

You know you do the odd comentry and eveyone then wants your pic and autograph (thinks.... dreaming again!)

Am not sure as to my next visit to the Solent.
Next deff visit is for Southampton Boat Show.
We are having our own stand for the very first time.
We are also looking at having 2 ribs on the "try a boat"

I am sure I will that way before then but nothing deff as yet will let you know.

Pete, its still on the list to find but we don't have that many of them in.

Basically it doesn't transmit. When you press and hold the 'transmit' button, the receiving station hears the click but not the voice message.

Best Idea is to rip it out send it here marked for my attention.
