An old fiberglass tent pole will do a good job just make sure you tape the joints together 1st.

If you still have trouble finding the other end of the pole attach a long tie wrap to it leaving the tail as long as possible, twisting the pole rotates the tie wrap and hopefully you will see it from the exit hole. Worked for me, after a day of faffing about and not being able to locate the rod as it was stuck behind a chine.

Hi

Finally, I managed to get the cable through the pipe.
All it took was a fish tape and A FRIEND. I pushed the fish tape from the console and back. My friend pulled at the other cables / hoses that went into the tube and out the stern. Then we managed to get through it. I also had to remove the rubber bushings.

I also added a spare cord for the future.

Thanks for all the tips. I hope this thread will be useful to someone else as well.
