Transducer mounting on a Gemini grx 4.2m semi rigid inflatable

Hello crew first post here, just chasing some advice from you gurus out there. Currently I have a 4.2m rib and finding the perfect transducer location painful. I知 running a furuno 588 and a p66 transducer. At the moment I have it mounted off the transom and it reads ok but the image will break up if there is to much chop. I suspect the issue is the floor catipillars and causes air bubbles would it be worth looking at making the semi rigid floor rigid?? I understand the idea behind the boat design is to be able to be folded up but I have it on a trailer.

Cheers guys looking forward to your feed back

sorry for going off topic but how do you find the boat generally? Beach / launch recover?

Was looking at getting one now veering back to a normal rhib - not many on here have the GRX420 as far as I know and the UK distributor has just gone bust unfortunately

Yeah painfully slow find that the stupid flexing of the hull makes a mess off the readings on the plane. Pretty sure I知 going to just join and bolt every panel together so it痴 all one hull. Will also better support the transom as well once I知 done.

Mine is so easy to beach launch. Was up at Ningaloo reef Australia and transported the boat folded up with a yamaha 25hp four stroke.

Assembled on the beach and put the motor on.

A word of warning though. Dont leave the boat on the ocean beach edge as the wave action will fill the membrane between the main and speed tubes with sand. Either anchor 5 to 10m off shore or pull the boat up.

I dont know your boat model,i understood it is a sib not a rib. I had one 3.8 meters with same transducer mounting problem when mounted directly to lower transom..at end i added adjustable bracket to be able to lower the transducer into the water afew inches more and it solved the problem even at high speed
