A bit more research shows that Garmin are working with these guys and Google. I think it will be a fews years down the road, but a 3D chartplotter that shows shore detail would be very nice. When you thing about it, it is very simple as all the data is already available. It is just a software challenge to get it all integrated. Look at the demos on the web site.
