Theory is good. I just wonder how many people will be vigilant & keep it charged and how many will forget then wonder why they just go mown down by a passing ferry...

I agree which is why we offered to test them on a few different boats from cruisers to Ribs and maybe a couple of Yachts if there is no AIS fitted or being added. It certainly works OK we tested it on a training day Sunday and gained these captures from AIS live website. I even had someone call me to say we had appeared on their screen!

It certainly offers a cheaper and easy way of being seen

Looks like a good idea. I'd buy one for £150. Surely allowing it to be permanently wired into the boat makes more sense. Is this on the radar? (excuse the pun)

Hi Tim, yes we are in discussion but the plan is the three day charge so allows yachts out on a run etc. They can be charged aboard also, I just bring home for a base charger

I like the idea of these. Any idea when they're likely to go onto general sale?

Simon not immediately and SRT will new to assess needs and data, initially it was not for Uk Market but so far the interest may change this. SRT make units but won't sell direct as they would be badged to a supplier , not what you wanted to hear as we are only testing on RIBs and other craft
