Standard Horizon VH-310

Saw this remote 'telephone' station in this months Practical Boating.

Does anyone know if it can truely be used as a private handset on VHF perhaps in a noisy RIB at speed or is it just a RAM mike with more buttons on it?

Also how does it compare pricewise with the RAM mike option and can it be supplied with a GX1500E?

Cheers,

Orve.

It's a RAM mike with more buttons.

I think it's intended for commercial guys who use a lot of telephone type communication with sister ships and the like.
