Standard Horizon GX2100 Matrix AIS

As seen here:-

http://www.standardhorizon.com/index...3&isArchived=0

Appears to be a new model, anybody got one, any comments?

My Standard Horizon handheld seems a good bit of kit but I've no experience of their marine base sets. I'm guessing it will probably be a decent bit of kit, but just wondered if anybody had comments on it.

Availability in the UK also seems to be quite limited?

Just a general observation, Standard Horizon are made by/for Yaesu, and Yaesu have a very good rep with the Amateur Radio crowd.

I have all SH gear on mine. It's solid stuff without the 'bells and whistles', which is fine by me.

Not available in the UK - does your stuff need UK approvals or is US OK? Make sure it will talk to all the other radios down there!

I don't think it needs UK approval, but would need to have the international marine band channels rather than US ones ... will have to have a look at the book. Odd - when I typed it into Google the other day a couple of UK suppliers came up, and now they don't
