which brings us back being screwed
Grumpy

The guy in canada had plotter and not VHF troubles.

The price for the GX1500 has not been confirmed as yet and stock will not be available till Jan.
Having said that a SRP of £189 is about right.
The street price will, of course, be less.

Hope that helps

Same as that on the VM3500.

I am using the gx 3500 quantum. Here is a link to SH website. Before this I used a quest which was also really good but not approved by MOT. I had the colour model of the cp 180.

Standard Horizon

Tim

I fitted one of the RIBS with the 12" plotter and DSC set back in April 2006, I was so impressed with the plotter I promptly went and bought another one for one of the yachts.

Having said that I have returned the plotter (from the RIB) once already as it had both steamed up and four of the five menu buttons below the screen had ceased to work. The plotter aboard the yacht has been perfect but is of courser protected from the elements. There was no problem getting a replacment from the dealer.

I've also got 4 of their hand helds and have found them to be tough and durable.

Over all I like the kit but would be intrested if any other open boat owners have had a problem with the 12" plotter. With new boats on their way for next year, I would like to fit more of the same but can not afford problems.

I have had five cp 180's a bit smaller than the 12" and I had all the same problems as you. Standard has replaced them all. Sometimes all that is needed to make the softkeys work again is a software upgrade. In the end each of the plotters has fogged and stopped working.
