Splicing garmin transducer....?

Hi All,

I bought a gpsmap 178 on here, with a transducer (with no plug on the cable).
First off I couldn't work out how to get it connected but it only came with the power cable, not the dual power / transducer cable.

I now have the correct cable and have lopped the transducer plug off it, I had hoped I would be presented with the same number of and same colour wires but no such luck!!

Has anyone attempted this before Or can anyone help identify what wires are what! (on the head unit end brown is live, bare-wire is negative)
Green and white seem to match up, but the head unit still won't detect the transducer

I've attached photos of the wires! (Head unit end on the left hopefully!)

Bare wire is the screen and not negative. I still haven't sussed why you cut the right plug off?
