With your older motor you are better off sticking with the nmea interface as I'm not sure it will work with the newer networked stuff.

I think you are asking how do i connect the whole lot up?

GPS Will either have the antenna built into the plotter unit or have a separate pod that will plug into the NMEA bus.

Search Google for "NMEA 2000" for a high level explanation as to how the 2k works.

Unless the engine "talks" NMEA 2k chances are the two systems will be independent of each other.

I thought he was more asking what to buy but difficult to answer without knowing what he's hoping to achieve.

Mercs only talk to N2k through a gateway and they're very expensive. And with only limited smartcraft data available on a year 2000 motor he wouldnt see much benefit.

Best off with just a pair of SC1000 smartcraft gauges and an independant plotter. There is an nmea 0183 input on the smartcraft which can be connected to a gps/plotter which I think would give litres per nautical mile etc.

GMI 10 is just a small display, won't tell you anything on it's own.

Try it with a Clamshell!

Depending what you want to achieve, Lowrance and various other electronics companies do NMEA2K "engine sensor interfaces" to allow you to display the output of old analog sensors on an NMEA display.

In my case for almost double what the engine's worth!
