Yes Silva speak to Murray at Silva i think you are covered by sale of goods act if they replace with a new unit then that new unit must be covered by warranty , if repaired then remaining warranty applies edit just phoned them and guess what warranty apllies from date of purchase bummer so i have 11 months left of warranty this is a bit of a scam i think as its a known production fault ie the LCD screens not being up to the job .

oh too late on me edit does anyone out there have any ideas on how to get the 2 years reinstated on the replacement unit

Tim It strikes me that if Silva are confident of there replacement screen then they should show that confidence by covering it by warranty

I spoke to and eagle it know who said that we should negotiate a new warranty maybe on the specific fault putting the point to the company that we are within our rights to ask for a refund Do you want to have a go or shall I

Just got off the phone to Silva and they will honour a new 2 year warranty on the replacement unit as it is due to a manufacturing fault had this arguement last time but a happy bunny now as all resolved.If your fault was the screen then same should apply to you don't you just hate it when you have to push to get things sorted.

someone called Carol she double checked with someone twice. All i said was that as you supplied the radio's with a manufacturing fault ,and they had to be replaced due to this same fault then it only seems fair that they stand by a new warranty . They are nice people to deal with you just got to go on the angle that they supplied faulty goods in the first place so they should replace the goods free of charge and give a new warranty as the new unit should be guaranteed free from the original fault. Let us know how you get on
