Ribeye depth sounder mounting

Hi all, I'm fitting a Garmin 551s nav/sounder to my Ribeye 500 and want to fit an in hull depth transducer, as I don't fancy one dangling off the back, or drilling a 2" hole for 'thru hull' type. I've bought an Airmar P79, but I'm not sure quite where to fit it.

There is space by the bilge pump, in front of the drain plug, but I don't know if the hull is too thick there - anyone know?

There isn't a convenient place on teh deadrise until it's 3/4 of the way up the 'V'.

thanks
