Revenge poster

I purchased a cruzpro rh110 rpm tachometer 2 years ago and it has never worked. Due to me having 3 kids and doing many other things on the boat I hadn't got round to getting it replaced.

Finally I spoke to cruzpro and sent it off to New Zealand to get repaired and they ripped me for $115 to fix a faulty part which has been faulty since the day it was purchased. It was out of warranty but they could care any less. Personally I think that is terrible customer service and also terrible testing to ship a product that never worked. I was going to buy additional electronics from them but am now thinking twice about it.

I have now read that others have had a bad experience with them, what's your experience been like?

Pity you weren't as quick at sending the faulty part off 2 years ago as you were at signing up just to have a moan. I take it the kids aren't taking as much of your time up now🤔

Hiya and welcome to RIBnet

Are you aware that there is a section on here that you can introduce yourself just a little ? Perhaps tell us about your boat , where you like to cruise/race whatever or maybe a little about yourself ?

A first post like this will probably not get many folk on your side from the word go. Quite frankly you clearly state the equipment did not work from day 1 , but you simply did not do anything about it ! Honestly what did you expect the manufacturers to say ? IMHO you only have yourself to blame , sorry !

C#####o - Very poor experience, what's yours been like - The Hull Truth - Boating and Fishing Forum

I'd imagine that he was rather hoping they'd say "Please Mister Butterball, please don't badmouth us on the Internet - here, look, we will repair your out of warranty kit FOC"

First time moaner poster with an easily googled thread title says it all. Well, it used to be easily googled....

It was 4.30 in the morning when I write this post, one of them had woken me up, so yes, plenty of time at that time in the morning.

I'm having moan because I want others to think twice before buying from these guys

To have good customer service. Look I spent a long time getting various other parts replaced before it was determined to be the faulty part. If I had used it and the kit went faulty then fair enough, but it never worked, I would expect some good will from the company on those grounds but they couldn't give a toss

Jbutterfill,,,,If I purchased an item from you, then waited 2 years to decide that it was that part that was faulty, and I wanted you to repair it, are you going to repair it FOC, I don't think so, you have to be realistic.

PS, don't slag a company off on first post, never engenders a good response from any forum.

I cannot think of a single industry where it is acceptable to report a defect two years after the discovery of said defect.

Especially marine electronics, which are used in quite possibly the most common corrosive environment known to man.

For balance, we have Cruz pro vapour detectors on all the boats / hovercraft (a coding requirement). It's good kit, very well priced..... I deal with a uk importer who have never been anything but helpful
