Have a go yourself as andy says, the benefits are massive, particularly if something goes wrong you know where to look, and can build in some interchangability of components to get you home.

I'm in your area, and your welcome to come and have a look at the system I've built after completly gutting my own RIB last winter and starting from scratch. So far nothing I've put in has gone wrong, just the expensive bits its been connected to.

Unless your completly happy with your ability dont do it yourself!

I did mine and besides the fact it took bloody ages in the snow i was constantly wondering what i had missed of when it would stop working!!

As it happend the only thing that did break was the isolator switch that i didnt touch!

dont underestimate how long it will take, find somewhere warm and out of the weather to do it and prepare to shape your body in all sorts of unnecessary positions! working on boats is hard work!

on the plus side, i did get a sence of achievement when i turned it on and it worked and i saved a bit of money.

Good luck!!

Thanks for all the advice guys - (even the smartarse one). I'll mull it over and decide what to do over the next couple of weeks. I really would prefer someone else to wire it though, although I am quite capable. I want to convert to a 2 battery system and change the location and the split charge diode thingy wotsit might push me a bit hard!

Thanks again,
