Raymarine service

My Raymarine VHF went tits up on the Dun Loaghaire cruise. I contacted my local supplier & we were looking at £250 ish, give or take to replace it. He suggested contacting Raymarine. Anyway, cut a long story short, I've just received a brand new in the box delivered to my door for £156, guess what I'm doing this aft

Nice one. They have a customer service counter in Segensworth, Fareham. It's great, they will give advice and try to fix stuff if they can. Used it a few times myself.

Ah sh1t! I owe donegaldan another all-you-can-eat buffet. He said your VHF was stuffed and I bet him his was

I bought an A65 combo plotter from them under similar circumstances. They were nice people to do business with. When you think about it a bit, it makes an evil sort of sense. Your kit fails on Joe Publics boat. He asks you to fix it (pricey) and you offer to sell him a new one for more than a dealer will give you for it. Score!

It comes under their fixed price repair scheme, mine was beyond economic repair so they just replaced it for the maximum repair charge which is 156 quid.
Ps Willk, my handheld was working ok, as we're the other assorted vhfs on the other 8 boats. So hang fire on the Buffet, it won't do him any harm to miss a meal or two

I'd imagine they have to call it something like that. Otherwise the dealers would kick up

Good news on the buffet tho
